September 10The Abbey is unnaturally quiet- rather, quieter then it would have been when I was still innocent and ignorant to the world. It's been this silent since I returned the first time, though, save for various half-wits wreaking havoc in the Infirmary in their attempts to help the wounded. But I have yet to see any of them, thank Martin. The Abbess, however, seems to be missing...
But my trip! I went South briefly, getting myself addicted to this thing called "Orange Juice" (I haven't the faintest idea of why, as it has an aftertaste much like vomit) and getting a great many herbs I needed. Then North again, to a "Lost Church" (as the Monks called it), where I met up with poor Merth again. Ai, he was still calling me "Alyn" and following me everywhere. I felt guilty about having to drug him in order to leave without him following, but... What's done is done. I only hope he won't decide to try to kill me next.
Leen is here and has yet to say anything to me, but judging about how she was cackling about "shaaarp pointy objectsss~", I'll take it that she's fine. The scrap of Squirrel Wentie is still toting around her stick, and Mistress Redfur also appears to be in good health, for which I'm grateful for.
Alas, if only we could regain some of our lost companions! At least the semi-intelligent ones, anyway. Some of the last batch... I've met rocks with more sence then they. But I'm an Abbey Sister, among other things, and 'tisn't my position to complain about the wits of others. Tat would be a Princess or a Queen, after all.
